In a productive session, mostly dedicated to testing the 2013 tires provided by Pirelli, it was Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) who finished first, narrowly ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber in their Red Bulls. Fernando Alonso, in fifth place, was only two-tenths behind.
