The McLaren Mercedes team could hardly have dreamed of a better outcome for this Malaysian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will both start from the front row. Both men hope to come out of the first corner in the lead, and even though they expect a tough race tomorrow, their goal is to win.

Victim of a KERS problem in Q3, Fernando Alonso believes, however, that he couldn't have done better than a 9th place which, thanks to the penalty given to Kimi Räikkönen, will turn into an 8th place on the grid. As for Felipe Massa, he fails once again in Q2 but nevertheless regained confidence during the qualifiers.

Kimi Räikkönen set the fifth-fastest time and Romain Grosjean the seventh during the Malaysian Grand Prix qualifying in Sepang. However, Kimi will have to start from the tenth position due to a five-place penalty for changing the gearbox, which will also move Romain up to sixth place on the grid.
