Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time in the first free practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix. He was ahead of team-mate Valtteri Bottas and the two Ferraris of Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel. Fernando Alonso was once again forced to abandon his McLaren-Honda after just one lap.
