The tests for young drivers are an opportunity for teams to test young drivers as the name suggests, but also new parts for 2012. The Williams team took advantage of this first day of testing to try out the concept of high exhausts which will come into effect from 2012.

Today in Abu Dhabi was the first day of private testing for young drivers (Rookies Days). Under the sun and on a clean track, many laps were completed and the French drivers shone. As this morning, Jean-Eric Vergne is at the top of the standings this evening. He is ahead of his compatriot Jules Bianchi while Charles Pic was behind the wheel of the Virgin.

Lewis Hamilton managed to end a difficult period in a beautiful way. The 2008 world champion had a magnificent Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to secure his third victory of the season.
