Jean-Eric Vergne once again delivered the best performance of the day. The Frenchman at the wheel of the Red Bull has shown throughout the week that he has the potential to make it to Formula 1. He registered his best time just 0.4 seconds off Sebastian Vettel's pole position. Sam Bird is second in the Mercedes GP, ahead of Jules Bianchi in the Ferrari, who had been in third place since the start of private testing in Abu Dhabi.

At the lunch break, Vergne and Bianchi are still at the top of the leaderboard on the third day of private testing in Abu Dhabi. The two French drivers lead over Red Bull and Ferrari. Nathanael Berthon and Charles Pic are currently in 9th and 10th positions.

After investigation, Pirelli assures that no structural failure of the tire is to blame for the puncture that prematurely ended Sebastian Vettel's race during the last Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Italian manufacturer also does not rule out the possibility of a puncture caused by debris on the track.
