Mixed fortunes for Red Bull drivers, as Sebastian Vettel clinches pole position, while the qualifying session was a nightmare for Mark Webber. The Australian driver was eliminated in Q1, posting the 19th fastest time. He had a hydraulic problem with his DRS, and without DRS, it was impossible for him to fight for a better position.

Timo Glock did not participate in the qualifying session this afternoon, and the German driver's participation in tomorrow's Grand Prix is still uncertain. Charles Pic, on the other hand, expressed disappointment with his qualifying performance, but due to Timo Glock's health issues, all the preparation work could not be completed.

The Sahara Force India team is delighted after the qualifying as they successfully placed both their cars in the top 10. The Indian team was hoping for a little better, but the goal is to score good points tomorrow with both cars.

The Sauber team hoped to place both of its cars in Q3; while Kamui Kobayashi succeeded, Sergio Pérez did not as he struggled in qualifying. However, the Mexican driver remains confident about his chances of moving up during the race tomorrow.

Sebastian Vettel secured the pole position for the European Grand Prix held in Valencia. The German driver leads Lewis Hamilton, Pastor Maldonado, Romain Grosjean, and Kimi Räikkönen. A strong performance by Heikki Kovalainen who qualifies for Q2, and disappointment for Mark Webber who only manages 19th place due to problems with his Red Bull, as well as for the Ferrari drivers who were eliminated in Q2.

Timo Glock was not at his best today, and the Marussia team therefore transferred part of the program assigned to the German to Charles Pic. The French driver was delighted with this change, which allowed him to tackle new things in preparation for a race weekend.

The HRT team did not have an easy first day, Pedro de la Rosa experienced some brake issues, although they were quickly resolved. The Spanish driver then went off track, which prematurely ended his session, but he remains optimistic for tomorrow. The same goes for Narain Karthikeyan, even though the Indian driver had trouble getting his tires up to the right temperature.
