He finished ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen. Noteworthy was the major crash at the first corner that eliminated Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Romain Grosjean, and Sergio Pérez.

The disappointment was present in the Williams camp at the end of the qualifiers, due to poor positioning for Bruno Senna and Pastor Maldonado's penalty. However, the Venezuelan driver will still start 6th, a result that satisfies him. He hopes to score points tomorrow, just like Bruno Senna despite his 17th place on the grid.
