Bottas looking for sponsors for 2013

Valtteri Bottas hopes to be in F1 next year, and the Finnish driver would like it to be with the team he has been working with since the start of the 2010 season as a reserve driver.

Bottas told the Finnish channel MTV3 that it could help him because he already knows the Grove team: « I obviously hope that the cooperation with Williams will continue. I have been here for a few years and I like it. I know the people, the team’s way of doing things. »

The native of Nastola also admitted that he didn’t want to spend another season away from competition: « Clearly, the next step in my career is a racing driver’s seat. I didn’t end up racing this season. Another year without racing could be too much: I might lose my feel. »

Bottas’s goal will therefore be to replace Pastor Maldonado or Bruno Senna in 2013 within the Williams team, but it will not be an easy task because both men have significant financial backing unlike the Finn who acknowledges that the help of sponsors is welcome: « Of course it would help; it’s a bonus for the team. »

Same sentiment from Toto Wolff, who, in addition to being one of the shareholders and leaders of the Williams F1 team, is also the manager of Valtteri Bottas: « Some gestures from the Finnish side could help him immensely. »
