Sunday: A nice comeback for Vettel and Red Bull

Starting from 10th position, Sebastian Vettel made an impressive comeback during the race and eventually finished in second place at the Grand Prix. Mark Webber, who started from 12th on the grid, also managed to climb up the ranks, but the Australian driver ended up in 6th place due to a lack of top speed.

Sunday: A nice comeback for Vettel and Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel – 2nd:

I’m happy today. The qualifying session didn’t go as planned yesterday, but today, the car seemed back to the level we know. My start was bad; I think I was the only one not to gain a position in the first corners, so we had to fight our way back up, which wasn’t easy, but I enjoyed it a lot. The strategy worked wonderfully for us, and we had a good pace, which was the main thing today. The car performed well, and we didn’t encounter any problems. Congratulations to Jenson and McLaren for their victory. We have many races a week apart this season, and I’m looking forward to Monza next weekend. We had a great race there last year – there’s always an incredible atmosphere, and we’ll push very hard.

Mark Webber – 6th:

« The start was rather chaotic, with what happened at La Source. We got into the race well, but it became evident quite early on that it was difficult for us to overtake. I had a little battle with Seb, which was clean – but then, it was not possible to fight with the others on the straight, so it complicated things. We tried to stop earlier to pass the others and made a gamble… but I had Petrov on my out-lap, which is fair for him as he’s racing, but we lost time at that moment. We had a bit of luck at the start, but then we couldn’t extract the maximum – but it’s good to finish six places higher than our starting position and score points. »
