Despite the high temperatures, Caterham managed to fight for some time with the Williams drivers. Furthermore, the green and yellow drivers finished far ahead of the Marussia drivers, which gives them confidence for the end of the season.

While everything suggested a collapse of the Mercedes during the race, Lewis Hamilton managed to equal Michael Schumacher's number of wins in Hungary by winning it for the fourth time. Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel completed the podium, while Romain Grosjean, a major player at the start of the race, is still under investigation for his collision with Jenson Button.

After securing a promising third place during the qualifying session for the Hungarian Grand Prix, Romain Grosjean faced the threat of disqualification, and therefore a start from the back of the grid, due to a non-compliant floorboard. Fortunately for the Frenchman, the piece was only non-compliant because of an impact during Q2, which allowed him to avoid the penalty.

At the end of a session held under intense heat, it was Lewis Hamilton who secured pole position, while Sebastian Vettel fell just short and will therefore start from the unfavorable side. Romain Grosjean will be lurking behind these two drivers, with a Lotus that is gentle on its tires.

Having been deprived of testing the new tires at Silverstone last week, and with temperatures being more than high in Hungary, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg do not expect to perform miracles this weekend.
