A historic day for Iron Dames in Bahrain
Iron Dames has become in Bahrain the first 100% female crew to win the World Endurance Championship.
Race after race, they are etching their names in history. After securing pole position at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, the trio composed of Sarah Bovy, Rahel Frey, and Michelle Gatting emerged victorious in the LMGTE-AM category. The crew of the pink Porsche took advantage of the setbacks faced by the Iron Lynx car to achieve their first win in the World Endurance Championship.
It is difficult to express so much joy and emotion in words. This first victory in the FIA World Endurance Championship is a very special moment for me because it gives true value to the project itself and to the passion, dedication, and hard work of everyone on the team, on the track and behind the scenes. I would like to pay tribute to each and every one of them. This historic moment is also theirs. It is a world championship victory, but it is also a family victory, Deborah Mayer, the creator of the Iron Dames project, certifies.
We are incredibly proud of what Sarah, Rahel, and Michelle have accomplished. Since they started as Iron Ladies, they have shown remarkable determination, teamwork, and an unwavering attitude that this victory rewards. They prove that dreams have no barriers if we give ourselves the means to achieve them.
Thanks to this victory, the Iron Dames have secured the position of vice-champion in the LMGTE-AM category. Corvette was crowned champion at the 6 Hours of Fuji.
