F2 – Hauger takes pole in Austria ahead of Antonelli. Hadjar breaks his engine

The Formula 2 qualifying session of this Austrian Grand Prix took place this Friday afternoon before the F1 qualifications. Dennis Hauger was able to achieve the best time today in 1:28.694. He therefore secures pole position for the main race on Sunday and 10th place on the sprint. Hauger (MP Motorsport) is ahead of Kimi Antonelli by 3 tenths.

Verschoor and Maini will be on the second row with already significant gaps for a small circuit the size of Spielberg. Maloney and Aron will be on the third row ahead of Marti and Hadjar. Bortoletto and Stanek are on the 5th row.

French driver Isack Hadjar, who has to convince Red Bull, was widely leading the testing session this morning “flying” in the session. It’s the first time this season that he felt so good in the car, he confided. While he was also in the lead in the first part of the qualifiers, his mechanics, however, gave up on him. Broken engine, Hadjar dropped to 7th position.

The other French driver, Victor Martins, is only ranked 21st with major difficulties in setting up the car.
