If Fernando Alonso was all smiles after his qualifying, Ferrari was looking gloomy after the race following the Spanish driver's 5th place and Felipe Massa's retirement. While the Asturian Bull kept hope alive during the first half of the race with an explosive start, his Ferrari had to concede to the competition once the hard tires were fitted.

The Lotus Renault GP team undoubtedly missed out on a good weekend during this Spanish Grand Prix. Qualified sixth, Vitaly Petrov finishes just outside the points while Nick Heidfeld scores points for eighth place after starting from the very back.

The McLaren drivers had a very good race today in Barcelona. While Lewis Hamilton just missed out on victory by a few tenths after literally hounding Sebastian Vettel's RB7, Jenson Button superbly recovered from his poor start with a three-stop strategy.

Grouped performance at Mercedes GP. Like last year, Michael Schumacher finishes ahead of his young teammate. The seven-time world champion had a rocket start from 10th position on the grid to get ahead of Rosberg. Both Mercedes GP drivers stayed wheel to wheel throughout the race. Nico Rosberg enjoyed his duel with his teammate, even though a problem with his DRS didn't allow him to attack as hard as he would have liked.
