Jenson Button managed to make up for a poor qualifying by climbing to 10th, thanks to an overtaking move in the penultimate lap of the race. As for Sergio Pérez, he finished where he started: 7th.

Thanks to its two drivers, the Mercedes team has consolidated its second place in the constructors' championship against Ferrari and Lotus. Lewis Hamilton finished 4th and is pleased with his race and the chassis change made before the Texas weekend. Nico Rosberg had a tougher time in Austin but still finished in the points in 9th position.
