The Red Bull Racing team has unveiled the successor to its World Championship-winning RB6: the RB7, which aims to help the team retain its two world titles.
The reigning world champions, led by Christian Horner, will still have Mark Webber as a driver, and Sebastian Vettel, the world champion driver.
Despite the numerous rumors linking him to Ferrari, he reaffirms his joy of being in his team:
« Out of season, you have to fill the pages. Unfortunately, people are just looking for something to say. I’ve said several times that I’m happy with the team and I mean it. We proceed step by step, and we prioritize the new car and today’s tests. »
His teammate, Mark Webber, still has the desire to obtain his first world title:
« I have a great opportunity and a very good team around me, I have to try to improve on what I did last year. Motivation is not an issue for any of us. »
Christian Horner is confident for the 2011 season but remains humble as the team finds itself in a new position this year: Red Bull Racing must defend its title.
We are completely focused on 2011, and the goal is to defend our two titles. We will do our best against the opposition, and the final ranking will give us the results.
He also explains that the work required was very difficult to allow the RB7 to make its first laps right from the start of winter testing.
This was our lowest production time in the team’s history, and the effort was exceptional. Adrian [Newey] didn’t provide his designs very early, and the guys sacrificed their family time at Christmas to help us.
The RB7, designed as a continuation of the RB6, recorded the fastest time on the first day of testing in Valencia, driven by Sebastian Vettel.
