HRT expressed its surprise at Toyota’s announcement to end a technical collaboration plan with the Spanish team.
HRT thought they had developed a plan that would have seen the development of a 2010 version of the Toyota for the Spanish team for the next season, but on Monday the plan was broken.
Toyota indicated that HRT did not meet the deadlines regarding the contractual payment, and this announcement cast doubt on the possibility for the Spanish team to have a car ready for the 2011 season.
The team has so far remained silent on Toyota’s announcement, but a brief statement indicates: «Hispania Racing is very surprised by Toyota’s press release and this matter will be subject to further clarifications.»
HRT started this season with a chassis built by Dallara but ended its relationship with the Italian manufacturer early in the season.
