Nick Fry is confident for Mercedes GP

After this first GP, Schumacher’s return to business was anticipated, as well as Rosberg’s promising start. The red baron, awaited by the entire world, secured a discreet 6th place, just behind his teammate who finished 5th.

Nick Fry, president of Mercedes GP, is aware of the expectations surrounding the German team with Michael Schumacher at the helm, who has returned to the sport after a three-year absence.

For him, this first result is not worrying; development work is the key to success: « I think our drivers know what they want to do to improve the car, and I think they are consistent in their analyses… They have already identified the elements to improve, which is encouraging…. Listening to the discussions within the team, there is no real difference in the feedback from Michael and Nico. »

Fry is admiring of the young German driver’s behavior: « I was impressed by Nico’s professional approach as Michael joined the team… it didn’t disturb him. He moves forward and does the job, even if the spotlight is on Michael. He has proven that he is very fast, and I know he will continue to improve. »

The president of Mercedes GP is confident for the rest of the season because he knows that this team has many talents on the track as well as in the pits: « We are a good team, and our drivers seem to work well together. Certainly, we leave Bahrain knowing we have work to do, but we are far from being defeated. »

« We have a lot of potential and that’s what matters… It’s a long season starting, and I am absolutely convinced that we have the right people and the appropriate equipment. Under Ross Brawn’s leadership, we will find the solutions to achieve our goals by the end of the year. »
