The scorching temperatures seem far removed from the winter weather sweeping across Europe at the moment, even if that’s exactly what the 12 teams can expect this weekend. They will make their annual pilgrimage to Sakhir, for the opening of the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship.
Bahrain hosts the first Grand Prix of the year for the second time after 2006, where Fernando Alonso and Renault won.
Sunny days, clear nights, all combined with good visibility, are expected to enhance the grand spectacle of Formula 1.
The temperatures expected over the weekend will not drop below 15°C at night, with peaks reaching up to 35°C, which will be a major challenge for the drivers, especially for the five rookies.
A detailed weather forecast for this first weekend will be available in the coming days.
