Summary: One last podium for the road at Brawn GP!

With both titles in hand, Brawn traveled to Abu Dhabi with serenity and relaxation. Despite a much calmer approach, Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button are nonetheless fierce competitors. Jenson Button finished on the third step of the podium, while his teammate Rubens Barrichello took 4th place.

Button thus reaches 95 points scored during this season, and Barrichello, who finishes behind Sebastian Vettel, takes 3rd place in the overall standings with 77 points. Brawn GP secures 172 points, which is 100 more than McLaren and Ferrari. A very successful season for the Brawn GP team.

Jenson Button – 3rd:

« It was a fun race today, and being on the podium for the last race of the year is fantastic. I really enjoyed driving here at the Yas Marina circuit. Abu Dhabi did a fantastic job for its first Grand Prix. We had some difficulties getting the tires heated and the track temperature started to drop as night fell. Nevertheless, the car was fantastic when we put on the soft tires for the last stint. The last laps were very exciting, and I did everything I could to take second place from Mark [Webber]. Unfortunately, he’s a very difficult guy to overtake. I would like to thank the team in Brackley and at Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines. It was really a fantastic year, and we are proud of the work done. »

Rubens Barrichello – 4th:

We had a competitive race today. The start was exciting, and I went inside at the first corner, but unfortunately, I hit Mark [Webber], and a piece of my front wing came off. I lost downforce, and Jenson was able to pass me. In the end, we decided not to change the nose of the car, and I pushed as hard as possible. I was faster than Jenson in the second stint, but it was very difficult to overtake him, especially when it’s your teammate who benefits from the same car. It was a competitive race, and I really enjoyed finishing 4th today. It was also a very good season, and I must thank the team for giving me such a good car.
