USF1 successfully passed the FIA inspection

The new incoming team for 2010, USF1 underwent an important inspection led by the FIA. The officials from the motorsport governing body based in Paris traveled to the team’s facilities in Charlotte, United States, and were satisfied with the work already completed as well as the work in progress at the factory.

« I personally visited the USF1 team in August and also this week, and I am impressed with the progress made by the team since the signing of the Concorde Agreements at the end of July, » said Nick Craw, the FIA’s sporting president. « Everything has happened very quickly for the team and we are happy to welcome them to the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship. »

The team is also happy with its close working relationship with the federation, chaired by Max Mosley until the end of this month. « We have had an open dialogue with the FIA since the team’s inspection in 2008 and we welcome them with open arms to the United States, » said USF1 co-owner and team technical director, Ken Anderson.

« We are proud to demonstrate to them that, despite the current rumors circulating, our plant in Charlotte is fully operational and we are well engaged in the construction of a Formula 1 car entirely designed and built in the United States, » added Anderson.

The technical director also refers to the growing doubts about USF1’s ability to be present on the grid for the inaugural race of the 2010 season in Bahrain: “Creating a new team in the world’s most challenging motorsport is not an easy task, but there is no doubt that we will be on the grid,” says Ken Anderson. “We have a good team, the right partners, and soon we will have the right drivers. We are looking forward to next year’s races.”
