Luca Marmorini returns to Ferrari after working for Toyota Motorsport for ten years. The 48-year-old Italian had left the Japanese team in January of this year. He had worked for Ferrari during the 1990s. The Scuderia states that the replacement will be immediate and thanks the Frenchman for his 15 years of service.
Ferrari wishes to thank Gilles Simon for the significant contribution he made during his time at ‘Gestione Sportiva’, first from 1994 to 2006, then as head of engine design and later, as head of the entire engine department, as stated in a team press release.
During this time, the V10 and V8 engines built in Maranello won 6 drivers’ titles and 8 constructors’ titles, and amassed 106 victories in Formula 1.
