The fate of the constructors’ championship is in the hands of the race stewards at Suzuka. With Brawn GP being 0.5 points away from being crowned, the disqualification of Nico Rosberg could give them the title today.
The stewards believe that Nico Rosberg drove too fast under the safety car regime. The German finished the race in fifth place, but if he is demoted, Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button would gain a place in the standings at the finish of the Japanese Grand Prix and, consequently, would earn Brawn GP enough points to be crowned the best constructor of the 2009 season.
