The Red Bulls were eager to shine for the Singapore night Grand Prix, starting with the qualifying sessions on Saturday. Sebastian Vettel, who was 2nd in the last qualifying session, managed to repeat his performance during the evening’s qualifications. A great performance considering the misfortunes of the rival team, Brawn GP. However, there was a hint of disappointment, as Vettel’s Red Bull, particularly comfortable, could have secured the pole position instead of Lewis Hamilton.
Webber, the Australian, is in 4th position after achieving the 13th fastest time in free practice. A very positive performance. It will be time to win for the Red Bull team, who will want to take advantage of Brawn GP’s setbacks.
Sebastian Vettel – 2nd and 2nd:
Unfortunately, when the red flag came out, I was on my fast lap with new tires. I had already used the worn tires, so my fast lap wasn’t as easy as it could have been. But in the end, it’s great to be back on the front, especially on a street circuit. The car has been very good all weekend, and I felt good. We will keep pushing tomorrow in the race. We’ll see tomorrow – it’s a long race and it will be difficult, but we have everything we need, so I’m looking forward to it.
Mark Webber – 13th and 4th:
I’m fourth and it could be worse. My mechanics have been brilliant this weekend. I have a lot of motivation to reward them tomorrow, and I’m looking forward to the race tomorrow, here in Singapore.
Christian Horner – Team Principal:
A thrilling qualifying session. It’s disappointing to have had that red flag just before the end. We felt we were capable of locking out the front row. Both drivers drove very well throughout the weekend.
