Franck Montagny has been in contact with the new USF1 Formula 1 team for a seat next year, although the Frenchman is keeping his options open in ALMS and IndyCar.
The newspaper L’Equipe stated that the 31-year-old driver, a former test driver for Renault and Toyota and a full-time Super Aguri driver in a few races in 2006, had exchanged emails with Peter Windsor, the sporting director of USF1.
They have this kind of discussion with all the third drivers of the teams in place, Montagny specified. Nothing has been signed.
Franck Montagny will race at Petit Le Mans later this month with Peugeot and has recently raced in IndyCar for Andretti Green. He has also been linked to a proposal from Gil de Ferran to join his team next season.
