Sébastien Bourdais will not pursue legal action against the Toro Rosso team following his dismissal shortly after the German Grand Prix.
His manager, Nicolas Todt, told the newspaper L’Equipe that an amicable agreement had been reached between the two parties.
Four days after the race at Nurburgring, when Toro Rosso announced that the 30-year-old French driver would be replaced by Jaime Alguersuari, Bourdais stated on his site that he had instructed [his] lawyers to study the situation and consider the possibility of legal action.
Nicolas Todt moderated his driver’s comments: « A week after the German Grand Prix, we reached an out-of-court settlement with the team. They knew that this (Bourdais’ dismissal, editor’s note) would not be taken to court. » There is talk of financial compensation amounting to 1.8 million euros for the Frenchman.
Although Sébastien Bourdais has stated that he remains strongly committed to his F1 project following his dismissal, it is said that he might return to the United States to race in the IndyCar series.
