Monaco is without a doubt the most glamorous destination of the Formula 1 season. As the paddock fills with celebrities from around the world, the Monaco event is also a chance for drivers to have fun before thinking about the competition.
The drivers participated on Tuesday, two days before the first free practice session, in the traditional exhibition match against the Monaco team, led by Prince Albert.
The now-famous ‘Nazionale Piloti’ team, wearing the usual black and white jersey – a reference to the checkered flag – was composed of Felipe Massa (Ferrari), Fernando Alonso (Renault), Sebastian Vettel (Toro Rosso), Giancarlo Fisichella (Captain, Force India), Jarno Trulli (Toyota), and Nico Rosberg (Williams). Unfortunately, no McLaren driver was available to participate in the match.
The entirety of the profits made from this charity match, held at Stade Louis II, was donated to an association for helping children in need.
