Brawn GP announced a few days after their first victory in Australia that they would be laying off staff at the factory in Brackley, Great Britain. Today, it’s Toyota team’s turn to do the same as this situation generally occurs within each team.
Indeed, team president John Howett revealed that 150 jobs will disappear by the end of the year in Cologne, where the team has its factory in Germany.
The local newspaper Express claims that this decision is a consequence of the reduction in the team’s budget for F1, which also includes the ban on testing and restrictions on the use of the wind tunnel.
« I estimate that by the end of the year, we will have 100 to 150 fewer employees compared to the beginning of the year, » said Howett.
