Saturday: Williams maintains its 4th place in the constructors’ championship

Williams did not particularly shine during this qualifying session as Nico Rosberg is 7th and Kazuki Nakajima 14th due to Glock’s penalty on the starting grid. Yet, the German was once again on top during free practice 3 with the first place.

The team is nonetheless confident after its first two Grand Prix events since the drivers are generally able to take advantage of the race events to turn them to their advantage.

Nico Rosberg – 1st and 7th:

« This is the position we are in at the moment. We are the fourth best team and today it’s the seventh place. We are having trouble heating the tires, but otherwise, I am quite happy. We are searching for the best strategy and I am not worried about our race. If you look at Malaysia, we were quite strong in the race even if the tires are a challenge, both the hard and the soft. We are waiting to see the amount of fuel the drivers around me are carrying. It would be nice if, after Australia and Malaysia, things went even better. I have to say that, for me, today, the surprise was Alonso. »

Kazuki Nakajima – 8th and 14th (qualified 15th):

The car is as competitive as it was in Malaysia, and we have still made progress. I really hope I can do better in the race, but we first need to look at our data. Then see what is happening with the car and try to optimize it. We will do our best to put a good strategy in place, and you never know what can happen in a Grand Prix.

« It’s disappointing that Kazuki couldn’t do better today. With Nico, we could have managed his race better in Q3, but it didn’t work out as planned today. We should expect a high-level race, but we anticipate a good performance. »
