It is the Polish driver who has just discovered the device since he is slightly heavier than his German teammate. The experience went well without apparent problems.
However, the results are still not there as the drivers occupy the back of the grid. No better than a 16th position for Heidfeld this morning. An improvement is expected in tomorrow’s qualifying.
Robert Kubica – 18th and 17th:
« We finished our Friday program by trying to learn more about the nature of the track and understand the tire compounds. While the tire choice is already difficult, adapting them during the race is even more so. Moreover, it was the first time I drove with KERS during a Grand Prix weekend. There were many tests to do. We now need to check the system and evaluate the data. »
Nick Heidfeld – 16th and 18th:
« A normal Friday for us. We focused on evaluating the tires for the race. They are not performing as we wished. We now need to try to improve the car’s balance. »
Willy Rampf – Director of Engineering:
« Our concern today, as usual, was race preparation and as planned, we completed the program. At the moment, we are not satisfied with the results. For the first time, our two drivers were using the KERS. The positive side is that we had no technical problems. »
