Chinese GP: Williams now aims to score big points

Leader during five of the six free practice sessions at the Australian and Malaysian Grand Prix, Williams and its drivers Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima now want to turn these strong performances into race success.

Currently in 5th place in the constructors’ championship with 3.5 points, the German team is the one among those with the magical diffusers that is performing the least well in the race (Brawn GP and Toyota being in the first two places). They are therefore particularly awaiting the decision concerning them, which will be announced today.

Nico Rosberg – Racing Driver

« In Malaysia, we didn’t finish in the desired positions, but it was another rather satisfying weekend. We qualified well and then took the lead right from the start of the race. It was just the circumstances that didn’t help me as I was looking for another good podium. »

« On this circuit, there is a great mix of corners and then there are these two long straights that offer plenty of overtaking opportunities in a lap, which will be good for the race. Sepang showed that the team has solved the problem we had last year on these types of circuits. We are now consistent. I am convinced that we will achieve another performance-filled weekend in China. The top eight as a goal. »

Kazuki Nakajima – Racing Driver.

« Even if I don’t qualify among the top ten, I’m looking to make progress in the race with a good strategy. Unfortunately, the rain disrupted everything two weeks ago. During the Sepang race, I was next to cars with KERS that make better starts. My goal is to improve my qualifying position in China. »

« Shanghai is a difficult circuit, but at least I now have some experience in the Grand Prix. Last year, we struggled on the track, but our car is different today. I hope to score my first points of the season. »
