David Coulthard is confident about the decision that will come after the FIA hearing on Tuesday in Paris regarding the very radical and especially controversial diffusers.

Brawn GP, Toyota and Williams will present their cases to the International Court of Appeal, although David Coulthard thinks there is no reason to worry.

« I am not an engineer, so I have to rely on the judgment of the FIA technicians. They declared the diffusers legal in Melbourne, so I think the FIA will confirm this judgment on April 14, » said David Coulthard.

Christian Horner, director of Red Bull Racing and former boss of Coulthard, admitted that his team is already looking into a new design for similar diffusers, despite launching a protest against the diffusers.

« The seven other teams will probably have to change their cars. With the economic crisis, this can be very costly for these teams. You should not necessarily be penalized because you interpreted the rules differently and thus gained an advantage. These three teams also spent money to develop their aerodynamics, meaning that the money would also be wasted if the diffusers are classified as illegal and therefore banned, » continued Coulthard.

« Formula 1 does not just mean economy, it is primarily a championship! » added the winner of 13 races, David Coulthard.
