Adrian Sutil believes it will take time for the technical partnership between his team Force India and McLaren-Mercedes to bear fruit.

The German and his teammate Giancarlo Fisichella have not managed to score any points since the start of the season or reach Q2 in qualifying. However, Sutil is convinced that the car will be significantly improved in the upcoming races.

« It is certain that this combination will work. It’s a difficult situation because there weren’t many tests and we designed the car in 120 days, » said the Force India driver to the magazine Autosport.

« Improvements are being made to the wind tunnel. The question is whether they are sufficient because the other teams are not resting on their laurels; they continue to develop. »

« But I am confident. At the moment, I am very happy because the single-seater is working well. There are no reliability issues, which helps us a lot. »

Sutil, who narrowly missed out on scoring his first point in Australia with his ninth place, finds the team spirit much better than it was in the past, like at the beginning of the 2007 season when he joined the team.

« There is a very positive mindset. The atmosphere is good, which is why I am very happy now. There are no problems within the team, and this makes it stronger. »

« It’s essential to feel good in a team, » he concluded.
