Renault kicks off the Roadshow season… in Dubai

The Renault F1 Team continues its Roadshow campaign in 2009 with the first event of the year taking place at several stunning locations in Dubai from April 9 to 12.

After six years of existence, the program’s goal remains unchanged: to bring enthusiasts and newcomers closer to the heart of the action and share with them a convivial and exceptional moment around motorsport and Formula 1.

In 2008, the Roadshow visited Rotterdam, Lisbon, New Delhi as well as Sao Paulo, among other cities. Renault F1 Team’s main driver, Nelson Piquet, will join third driver Romain Grosjean and demonstration driver Adam Khan for this very special activity program.

The event program in Dubai will kick off with a demonstration in the desert where the team will roar the Renault F1 Team’s 2008 car, the R28. The pièce de résistance of the program will take place Downtown Burj Dubai. Indeed, an exceptional demonstration will take place on a gigantic floating platform located on a lagoon at the foot of the tallest skyscraper in the world. The show promises to be dazzling.

Nelson Piquet will be at the wheel of the R28 for a sensational demonstration at the Dubai Mall Lagoon: « It is a huge privilege to drive the car in front of all the fans in Dubai. The Roadshow offers a sensational show. I can’t wait to be there. »

Romain Grosjean will also drive the R28 in Dubai: « I really like the Roadshow program. It’s a great opportunity for the public to truly experience Formula 1! Furthermore, the Dubai program is a major first in this part of the world. »

ING Renault F1 Team demonstration driver, Adam Kahn, will make his very first outing in Dubai: « I’m really looking forward to being in Dubai. It’s new territory for Formula 1; therefore, the fans will be even more impressed by the show that will unfold before them ».

According to a statement from the Renault F1 Team

Renault was the first team in Formula 1 to offer such events all around the world. The program is such a success that other teams are now considering doing the same. This is notably the case for BMW Sauber. Red Bull, also powered by the diamond logo, participated in the event twice last year.
