Saturday – Red Bull and Vettel are on track!

Red Bull had an impressive car during winter testing. The team designed an aggressive car, and despite very discreet and unreliable free practices, the team today achieved one of its best qualifications in F1 history. The new regulations undoubtedly have a part to play… However, everything remains to be confirmed tomorrow in the race, and Webber, at home, will be keen to shine.

Sebastian Vettel – 13th and 3rd:

« We had two difficult days. Mechanical problems in the first free practice session, then an error on my part in the second, and finally more mechanical issues this morning made my practice sessions complicated. But in the end, we gathered data that was very valuable for qualifying. »

« We also had a difficult winter, but the team worked well to make a competitive single-seater. Even though everything is very tight, we are on the second row, and it’s a very good start to the season. I can’t wait for tomorrow. »

Mark Webber – 7th and 8th (qualified 10th):

« I am not satisfied with my last qualifying lap. I made some mistakes and couldn’t improve to secure a better position. However, I am optimistic, and with the team, we will study our strategy for tomorrow. The team has built a competitive car. »

Christian Horner – Director

« We worked together in solidarity and the efforts paid off. It’s a good result for the team, despite a very difficult winter. Mark Webber has recovered from a major fracture and delivered a good performance despite a mistake in traffic during his last lap… but there were so many cars on the track… I’m sure he can deliver a good performance tomorrow. »

As for Sébastien [Vettel], he delivered a very good performance. He is very close to the Brawn GP team and makes the team very optimistic for upcoming events!
