Three new teams have “confirmed” their entry into the championship in 2010, according to Bernie Ecclestone.

Probably following the recent statements by the FIA on a capped budget for next year, the main financier of F1 told the agency AP News that the starting grid is ready to accommodate 26 cars in 2010.

Ecclestone did not provide the names of the teams, but it seems that the USGPE team (formerly USF1) is part of the group.

« We have many committed people, » added the FOM director.

Max Mosley had mentioned the issue of new teams entering F1 by highlighting an important point in the regulations: the maximum number that can register for the championship is twelve. Therefore, the arrival of three new teams should be preceded by the required inspection checks to increase the number of participants.
