The Uproar of the 2009 Champion over the ‘Number of Wins’
A standoff has begun this week between the FIA and the FOTA (association of F1 teams) over the method of designating the drivers’ champion. The FOTA had recommended a new points system which the FIA rejected, preferring a revised version of Bernie Ecclestone’s medals. The teams are crying scandal and the FIA is logically expected to relent and backtrack. An official confirmation is expected within the week.
