Rossi regrets not having made the jump to F1

In an interview, Valentino Rossi, reigning MotoGP champion, stated that his only regret in his sports career is not having taken part in the Formula 1 championship.

After several encouraging tests behind the wheel of the Ferrari in 2004 and 2005, the Italian was increasingly tipped to become Michael Schumacher’s teammate in 2006. Having always maintained that these tests were just for fun, Rossi ultimately decided to stick with two wheels.

According to the ANSA news agency, when asked in a television interview to reveal his greatest regret, Rossi stated he had only one: Not having moved to Formula 1 and driven for Ferrari.

« But now, I am 30 years old and I have made my choice. Although Ferrari will always remain in my heart, I think I will never race for them. »

Valentino Rossi, who regained his title in 2008, will continue to represent Yamaha this season.
