The decision to change identity was made by the World Motor Sport Council, which met this Tuesday.
According to a statement released by the FIA: « Honda Racing F1 Team requested to change their name to become the Brawn GP Team. »
« The World Motor Sport Council accepted this request for Brawn GP to enter the championship. A contract was made with this team since Honda can no longer fulfill it. However, the standard fee required for a new entry was waived. »
