Nick Heidfeld was already one of the two lightest men on the F1 grid, but 2.5 kg still need to be shed from his total weight at the dawn of this 2009 season.
The BMW-Sauber driver, who was at the top of the time sheets on the first day of testing in Barcelona, is now reportedly approaching 58 kilos on the scale according to the German press.
Felipe Massa also has the same weight. These two drivers will therefore benefit from a minor advantage with the introduction of KERS this year.
« Never in my life had I counted my calories so much. I didn’t think I could still lose weight, » Heidfeld stated.
« But this winter, I was careful by consuming fewer carbohydrates and fats, » added the 31-year-old German.
