Honda Racing F1, it’s truly over!

The creation of Ross Brawn’s team was officially announced on Friday, thus bringing an end to the Honda saga. The time has come to close a chapter in the history of Formula 1.

Honda F1 made sure to publish a farewell message thanking its fans for their support. The team’s only victory during the 2000s, thanks to Jenson Button’s performance at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix, allowed the team to maintain their motivation.

Below is the statement released by Honda:

A message for the fans of Honda Racing F1 Team.

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support over the past few years, particularly after this exciting 2008 season, which was somewhat eventful for the Honda Racing F1 Team. We bid you farewell.

We have fond memories of your presence in the stands, the ceremonies, and, of course, Jenson’s victory in Hungary in 2006. Thank you for sharing these moments with us, for considering the stands as your second home.

Honda’s activities in motorsport will continue in other categories. We hope you will continue to pursue your dreams in motorsport.

With our best wishes,

Honda Racing F1 Team
