According to Briatore, Renault has a solid future

Renault’s director, Flavio Briatore, is convinced that his team has a strong future in Formula 1 despite the impact of losing its sponsor ING at the end of the year.

The team is already surrounded by numerous speculations about its future in the sport because its car sales are very poor. ING’s departure doesn’t help, but it was undoubtedly influenced by the health status of the French manufacturer.

However, Briatore remains optimistic because F1 is experiencing a number of cost-cutting measures. According to him, the future can be looked at with serenity.

« Over the past three years, the team and ING have enjoyed a fruitful and rewarding relationship, » said Briatore in a statement from his team on their official website.

« ING has been an enthusiastic partner and a significant supporter for the Renault F1 team in all respects. The company has enabled genuine success, and Renault has thus become a globally recognized brand thanks to a new sponsorship program. »

« However, we know that the current financial situation does not help sports, which is forced to restructure.

« The cost reductions envisaged by FOTA constitute one of its priorities. With this program, we are convinced that we can guarantee a strong future for our team and for Formula 1, » concluded the Italian.
