In January at Mugello, it was the rain that captured the attention, then, in Sakhir, the sand came to play spoilsport. It wasn’t until Friday that we saw Kimi Räikkönen drive the new Ferrari F60 on a dry track. In the end, when the weather conditions were good and the wind had finally died down, the Finn was there.
The track was nevertheless not perfect in the morning, but after two hours of running the lap times started to drop. Overall, it was a serious job for the Scuderia.
« The track was very slippery in the morning due to the sand, but we managed to move forward in our program, » said Kimi Räikkönen at the end of Friday.
The time we lost in the last few days is regrettable, but it is not up to us. You just have to accept it. My first day with the new F60 on a dry track was very positive.
« I immediately had a good feeling but it is still too early to say where we stand compared to our competitors. The car still needs to be improved and there is no critical area. We used the KERS and I am happy with the way it is developing. »
New tests are taking place starting today, Monday, February 16, in Bahrain. The same three teams as last week are expected, particularly Ferrari with Kimi Räikkönen on track from today.
