FIA President Max Mosley is now convinced of the identity of the person behind the News of the World plot that last year revealed details of his private life.

Mosley has always had suspicions that the News of the World is the result of a conspiracy led by someone determined to discredit him.

However, when asked for details on the matter, Mosley stated: « Yes. We know very well who knows now. »

« But I won’t say anything until I’m absolutely certain. It will take a little more time. »

The Briton added that the investigation to prove the culprit’s identity is ongoing. This plot was completely fabricated to force him to resign from his position.

« He didn’t do it for pleasure. He wanted to get rid of me. The theory was that I should resign. That’s what the News of the World also thought. »

He also confirmed that the identity of the suspected person will take several years to be confirmed.

« It might take two or three years for various reasons, » explained Mosley. « I don’t know how long it will take. »

« We have a criminal procedure against 17 people in Germany, we have defamation actions in France, Germany, and Italy. And in Italy, the defamation actions are a complement to the criminal procedure which, of course, is in the hands of the judicial authorities. »

« These are things that take time. But we will get there. »
