French driver Sébastien Bourdais will continue his adventure next season in F1 with Toro Rosso. The information was announced this morning, not through an official press release but via Europe 1 radio, which is now responsible for Formula 1 news as it holds the broadcasting rights for the next two seasons.
The Le Mans driver had to wait until the end of January to secure this additional one-year contract with Team Toro Rosso. The length of the contract remains unclear, however, as rumors had suggested a two-year deal.
Recall that during the winter tests, he was in contention with Japanese driver Takuma Sato for this second place alongside young Swiss Sébastien Buemi.
We will inform you as soon as the Toro Rosso team is officialized and wish to apologize if we gave you false hopes. Our trust in the radio Europe 1 may have, indeed, misled us.
