Valencia Day 1 – BMW Makes Good Progress in Its Program

Robert Kubica performed well today, Wednesday, during tests on the BMW-Sauber F1.09. The German team is present this week on the Valencia track in Spain.

After Tuesday’s launch followed by the shakedown, the Pole covered 99 laps on a dry track. Not a second was lost by the team, which has exclusive use of the Spanish circuit this week.

« Although the wind picked up this afternoon, the conditions were better than yesterday because the track evolves with each lap. This is felt in the grip when I drive, » said Kubica.

« The progress we made during the day shows that we are moving in the right direction in the development of the F1.09. »

Kubica stopped on the track in the morning, but BMW announced that the car ran out of fuel. This experience was intentional and is part of their program.

Kubica will remain in the single-seater tomorrow before giving up his place to his teammate Nick Heidfeld on Friday.
