The heads of two teams believe that the Ferrari F60 does not comply with the technical regulations.
A German magazine reported on Monday that the rear exhaust outlet of the new single-seater currently being tested alone on the Mugello circuit goes against the new technical regulations.
Norbert Haug, head of racing activities at Mercedes-Benz as cited by the German press agency SID, thinks that the Italian team will change the exhaust system before the Australian Grand Prix at the end of March.
He added: « Who knows, maybe, we’re only talking about the launch version, every team is aware of the regulations and so they know that exhaust exits must be covered in 2009. »
Similarly, the director of BMW-Sauber, Walter Riedl, stated that he assumes the launch of the Ferrari exhaust specification is simply provisional.
