Launch – Williams first team to flash on the Algarve

The Williams Formula 1 team officially unveiled the shape of its new car, the FW31, to the press this morning. The curtain was raised in front of the team’s garages at the Algarve circuit in Portugal.

The spotlight and bad weather reveal a unique single-seater compared to other teams unveiled so far.

The front wing is carefully studied aerodynamically, while its nose ends in a very rounded manner, likely to maximize the downforce caused by broad penetration into the air.

The rear is also different from the officially unveiled single-seaters so far. Even though the FW31 appears very streamlined in its shapes, the side pods are very pronounced and form a real barrier on the side.

On the color side, as expected, the FW31 appears in a traditional livery, dark blue. It’s a winter outfit.

The official colors will appear at the end of February.

Finally, the drivers of the Grove team are still Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima. It is Nico Hülkenberg who will be testing the car today; he was the only one present for the presentation.
