Ferrari F60 moves first test to Mugello

Ferrari has decided not to participate in the first test event with its new F60, which begins on Monday at the Algarve circuit in Portugal. The Scuderia prefers to test alone on its test track in Mugello, Italy.

The Maranello team had planned to join most of the other teams on the new Portimao track, but a Ferrari spokesperson confirmed that the weather forecast for Portugal next week has forced a change in their plans.

Current forecasts suggest that Monday and Tuesday, Portugal will be hit by rain. At the start of the season, losing two days of operation could prove crucial.

This means that the team with the prancing horse will have to wait a bit before measuring its competitiveness against its competitors because most of the teams will be running their 2009 cars starting Monday.

Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa will each have two days of testing. A testing project with Marc Gene in Vairano yesterday had to be canceled due to bad weather.
