Kimi Räikkönen is still set to participate in his first testing with the new Ferrari F60 in Portugal next week despite suffering from tonsillitis. This week, he left the Madonna di Campiglio ski event to better recover before the tests.
The Finn spent the week with Ferrari, first for the launch of the new single-seater at Mugello on Monday, then at Madonna di Campiglio in the Italian Alps for its annual event.
However, due to tonsils that are causing him pain, it has been decided as a precaution that it would be better for Räikkönen to leave Campiglio to fully recover for next week’s major tests in Portimao.
A Ferrari spokesperson confirmed that the early departure of the 2007 world champion from Italy would not lead to any changes in next week’s testing program, where Felipe Massa and Räikkönen will each have two days of testing with the new car.
