Massa and Räikkönen discover their new F60

Felipe Massa feels much stronger after his exceptional 2008 season. He lost the title by one point to Lewis Hamilton, in a thrilling finale in Brazil, where he was momentarily world champion as he crossed the finish line.

On the occasion of the launch of Ferrari’s 2009 single-seater, Massa admitted that the experience of racing has made him stronger.

« After six years, I feel stronger. I have more experience, especially after last year, » declared Massa.

The Brazilian stated that it was difficult to assess the competitiveness of the teams today, especially with all the changes in regulations. However, he believes that McLaren will once again be the main rival of the Scuderia.

The Ferrari driver will be driving the new F60 and admits to being very proud: « When you are a driver at Ferrari and you are the first to drive the new car, it represents a lot in terms of emotions. »

« I am very surprised because I was expecting a big car. But the single-seater is very, very small, very compact, especially the rear. It seems quite nice and we hope it will be as fast as it seems to appear. »

Kimi Räikkönen claims that he has already put the disappointment of the 2008 season behind him and aims to bounce back this year.

The 2007 world champion was unable to defend his crown. He was simply not in the rhythm of his teammate Felipe Massa, who won five races compared to two for the Finn.

At the same time as the launch of the F60 in Mugello, Räikkönen stated that he was beginning a new chapter in his career in this 2009 season.

« Last year, the championship did not go as I wanted, but that’s the past because now we are starting a new year, » said Räikkönen.

He thinks it will take time to get used to the new look of the car, adding that he already liked it.

« It seems different due to the new regulations, but after watching it for a bit, you get used to it. I am eager to see it in action. »
